Privacy & tracking notice
Effective date: September 29, 2026.
This notice explains how Passive Ventures, LLC, doing business as MatterPack ("MatterPack," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and shares personal information through matterpack.io, MatterPack advertising and lead forms, scheduling pages, email, and related marketing communications.
Who we are
MatterPack is operated by Passive Ventures, LLC in North Carolina, United States. For privacy questions or requests, email hello@matterpack.io.
Information we collect
Information you provide
- Video-request form: the current Meta form asks for first name and email address. We may also receive the form and ad-source details Meta provides.
- Other inquiries: your name, email address, phone number, firm, role, practice area, and information you choose to include when you contact us.
- Scheduling information: details you provide through Calendly when you book a call.
- Communications: messages sent through email, Messenger, Instagram, or other contact channels.
- Business evaluation information: information about your firm's document workflows, systems, and needs that you voluntarily provide during a fit review.
Please do not send client files, confidential legal information, Social Security numbers, financial-account details, medical information, or other sensitive matter information through a marketing form, direct message, or booking form. If MatterPack and a firm enter into a services agreement, handling of implementation data is governed by that agreement and the applicable security terms, not solely by this website notice.
Information collected automatically
When you visit our website, we and our providers may receive technical and usage information such as your IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, timestamps, and interactions with links, videos, and page sections. Campaign parameters in a URL may identify the advertisement or campaign that referred you.
If you accept advertising tracking, the MatterPack Meta Pixel may send Meta page visits and selected interaction events, such as video engagement, section views, message-link clicks, and booking-link clicks. We do not intentionally include free-text answers, client matter details, or document content in Pixel event parameters. Meta may associate Pixel information with a Meta account and use it for measurement, attribution, audience creation, and advertising under Meta's own terms and privacy policies.
Our cookie-preference tool stores your choice in your browser. See our Cookie Policy for details and to change your choice.
How we use information
- Open the requested estate-planning video, send one email with a return link, and respond if you contact us. Requesting the video does not enroll you in an ongoing marketing sequence. We do not send additional promotional email to video-request leads who do not contact us.
- Schedule and conduct calls and evaluate whether MatterPack may fit a firm's workflow.
- Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website.
- Measure advertising and website performance.
- Send a personal response to a question or inquiry you initiated. If we introduce broader promotional email later, we will update the relevant notice and collection choice before using this lead path for that purpose.
- Maintain records, protect our rights, prevent misuse, and comply with legal obligations.
When we share information
We may share information with providers that support the purposes above, including:
- Meta for advertising, instant lead forms, Messenger, Instagram, measurement, and Pixel services.
- Netlify for website hosting and delivery.
- Google for hosted fonts.
- Bunny.net for embedded video delivery.
- Calendly for scheduling.
- Brevo for storing video-request contacts and delivering the one requested return-link email.
- Namecheap email for messages and personal replies when you email us or choose to correspond with us.
- Professional advisers, authorities, or transaction parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights, obtain advice, or complete a business transaction.
These providers may process information under their own notices. You can review the privacy notices for Meta, Netlify, Google, Bunny.net, Calendly, and Brevo. Namecheap provides our email service.
Current video-form leads are saved in Meta and Brevo. We will update this notice and the relevant collection process before introducing any additional lead destination or contact-data sharing for this form.
We do not sell personal information for money. Some U.S. state laws may define certain advertising disclosures as "sharing," "targeted advertising," or a "sale" even without payment. Where such laws apply, you may use our cookie controls or contact us to exercise an applicable opt-out right.
Cookies, advertising, and privacy signals
The MatterPack site loads the Meta Pixel only if you select "Accept advertising tracking." "Reject advertising tracking" leaves that Pixel disabled. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the site treats it as rejection for that browser. We do not currently respond to other "Do Not Track" signals. This browser choice does not reverse information already sent or control linked third-party sites.
Embedded videos and linked third-party services may receive technical information when they load or when you choose to visit them. Your settings with those providers and your browser may offer additional controls.
Retention
We keep lead and inquiry records while they have a business purpose, subject to applicable law and deletion requests. We have not adopted an automatic inactivity-deletion period for leads. We may keep the minimum information needed to honor an opt-out or suppression request. Provider backups and independent retention practices may differ.
Your choices and U.S. privacy rights
You may unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in the message or by contacting us. You may change the website's advertising-cookie setting using the "Cookie settings" link below.
Depending on where you live and subject to applicable exceptions, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information; receive a portable copy; opt out of targeted advertising or certain disclosures; and appeal a denied request. Email hello@matterpack.io with the subject "Privacy request." We may verify identity or authority where appropriate for the type of request; browser advertising opt-outs do not require identification. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable right.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The MatterPack website and services are intended for business professionals and are not directed to people under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through this site.
External links
Our site links to third-party sites and services. Their privacy practices are controlled by their own notices, not this one.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as our practices or legal requirements change. The effective date above shows when this version was last revised. Material changes will be communicated as required by applicable law.
